Coffee is a fresh food product roasted on a regular schedule, with the roast date printed on every pack. This policy sets out when a return is possible and how it is processed.
1. Right of Withdrawal
Under Law No. 6502, the Buyer may withdraw from the contract within fourteen (14) days of receiving the goods without giving any reason.
2. Exceptions
Pursuant to Article 15 of the Regulation on Distance Contracts, the right of withdrawal does not apply to:
- goods prepared in line with the consumer’s requests or personal needs — namely ground coffee, which is ground per order to the requested grind size (Art. 15/ç);
- goods whose protective packaging has been opened for reasons of health or hygiene — namely any whole-bean coffee package whose vacuum seal has been broken (Art. 15/d).
Accordingly, ground coffee (in any condition) and opened whole-bean coffee packages cannot be returned.
3. When Return Is Possible
- Unopened whole-bean packages: may be returned within 14 days of delivery in original, resalable condition with the vacuum seal intact. Ground coffee is excluded from this right.
- Defective goods: Article 11 of Law No. 6502 applies (refund, exchange, repair or discount). Notify within 7 days of delivery with photos.
- Wrong item: if an item other than the one ordered is delivered, we cover all return costs and ship the correct product.
4. How to Return
- Send the request with your order number and reason to hello@academyroastery.com.
- We reply within one business day with the return address and instructions.
- Ship the goods in their original packaging (tracked shipping recommended).
- Upon receipt of eligible goods, the price is refunded within 14 days to the original payment method.
5. Shipping Costs
For returns under the right of withdrawal, return shipping is borne by the Buyer. For returns due to our fault (defective, damaged or wrong item), all shipping costs are covered by us.
